Overview
A multinational organization is seeking an experienced Application Architect to drive architectural standards, modern development practices, and technology innovation across the group. This role will shape application strategy, guide development teams, and ensure the adoption of scalable, secure, and modern architectures.
Responsibilities
* Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
* Oversee the application development lifecycle, including planning, design, project coordination, and solution delivery.
* Collaborate with development teams to provide architectural oversight, address technical challenges, and support solution design decisions.
* Lead R&D efforts on development practices, tools, and technologies, including solution exploration, proof-of-concept testing, and training delivery.
* Define and maintain architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices across the organization.
* Assess and recommend application frameworks, platforms, and technologies that align with business and technical goals.
* Support regional development teams with technical issues, process optimization, and tooling enhancements.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
* 10 years of experience in application development, with at least 5 years serving in a similar role.
* Strong technical foundation in application development practices, coding standards, and architectural methodologies.
* Hands-on experience in enterprise application development using the Microsoft technology stack (C#, .NET, MSSQL, Azure Services).
* Solid understanding of architectural patterns such as microservices, SOA, and event-driven architecture.
* Practical knowledge of modern development tooling, including Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, SonarQube, JUnit/NUnit, and related CI/CD practices.
* Exposure to frontend and mobile technologies such as Vue.js, Java, Kotlin (Android), and experience supporting modernization of legacy applications (e.g., PHP/JQuery to modern frameworks).
* Experience working with automation and workflow tools such as UiPath or Power Automate is an advantage.
* Familiarity with enterprise databases such as MySQL and experience with cloud-based application design.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese preferred due to cross-regional collaboration.
